I can’t think of any greater happiness than to be with you all the time, without interruption, endlessly… I dream of a grave, deep and narrow, where we would clasp each other in our arms as with clamps and I would hide my face in you and you would hide your face in me, and nobody would ever see us anymore. Anonymous asked: Do you have any tips for a person who wants to start a diary? Because whenever I start one, I find that when I read it over, it's not descriptive enough and I didn't enjoy it. What basic steps can I follow to make it enjoyable to write and compelling to read in the future? :)

The only obsession everyone wants: Love. People think that in falling in love they make themselves whole? The Platonic union of souls? I think otherwise. I think you’re whole before you begin. And the love fractures you. You’re whole, and then you’re cracked open. Philip Roth

There was a man who loved islands. He was born on one, but it didn’t suit him, as there were too many people on it… he wanted an island all of his own: not necessarily to be alone on it, but to make it a world of his own. D.H. Lawrence

Edison in Love
Thomas Edison loved a doll with a tiny phonograph inside because he made her speak. Is there any other reason to love a woman? Did she say the ghost of my conception or something equally demure? It’s hard to be sure how he feels when he holds me, I fall apart. I’m projecting here. He didn’t feel her first transgression was in having no expression. René Descartes, too, traveled alone with...

Help me not to sass my Dad… Help me not to get dogs in fights… Help me to be thankful for everything I’ve got… Where do you live? Help me not to tell lies… Are you watching me? I want to know what you are. I want to see what you see. Jack saying his prayers, Tree of Life

The sequence of doors we passed made me think of all the rooms of my past and future. The hospital ward I was born in, classrooms, tents, churches, offices, hotels, museums, nursing homes, the room I’ll die in. (Has it been built yet?) Cars’re rooms. So are woods. Skies’re ceilings. Distances’re walls. Wombs’re rooms made of mothers. Graves’re rooms made of soil. Black Swan Green
